Suzanne Husseini

Suzanne Husseini says her love of food began at home. She cites the meals her mother made during her childhood in Canada as the source of her everyday inspiration. Having hosted one of the most popular cooking shows in the Middle East, Suzanne gained a loyal and enthusiastic following due to her modernized yet simple take on Mediterranean/Arabic cuisine.

She is the author of the best-selling cookbook “When Suzanne Cooks” which celebrates the best of Arabic cuisine in her own unique way.  Her recipe for Moussaq’aa is available for Cookbook Club members to try; a luxurious vegetarian dish bringing soft aubergines, earthy pine nuts, chickpeas and an array of fragrant spices together. Suzanne was a guest judge on “Top Chef Middle East, ” frequently travels internationally as a featured food presenter in top tier events such as “Gourmet Abu Dhabi” and the “Frankfurt Book Fair.” She is currently preparing to launch a cooking show in English and Arabic where she will bring to life the wonders of this rich and diverse cuisine.

Suzanne is a lively and ebullient character and we know she’s going to bring a lot of life and laughter to our discussion at the Cookbook Club as well as a unique perspective on Arabic flavours.
